Aml Ameen talks with Empire Online

Aml Ameen talks The Maze Runner and more with Empire Online.

On Alby's big brother role:
He's more like the big brother. Actually, Alby definitely is the big brother - he definitely feels like one of the boys. He's the Grand Poobah in that sense I suppose, and Thomas comes along and challenges that. Thomas asks a lot of questions, and - without giving too much away - it emerges that Alby and the original Gladers have kept a secret away from the rest of the boys.

On how it's different from other YA films:
And another great thing about the film is the quality of the actors that were cast to play the roles in it - these are young actors like Will Poulter, Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Kaya Scodelario, well-grounded British actors. We're usually used to doing very raw material where I come from, films like Kidulthood, so I think we all brought that reality to it and that honesty is great. That honesty will separate it from other young adult films.
